The Undecided voters will decide the election

While Barack Obama has a comfortable lead in the latest national polls, the number of people voting undecided or unsure is at a high rate in some key states, and that really worries me as a Obama supporter. Take a look at the percentages of voters undecided in the key battleground states.

Obama has a 1o point lead in Pennsylvania, but their is 9% gap of undecided voters. In Ohio, Obama has a 8 point lead, but a 9% voted undecided. Florida, Obama has a 7 point lead, but a 9% undecided. These percentage of undecided voters are the same at the key states. That is big margin especially within a week to go before we go to the polls. However, with these undecided percentages in place, can we really trust the national polls at this point of the campaign? Does it really give an indicator on who going to win the election? Remember Al gore had these similar types of leads in the polls in 2000. The result, George W. Bush won the election in a more controversial fashion.

Now, i am not saying that Obama will have a similar result in 2008, but the election itself isn't going to determine who wins the battleground states. It is how much of a turnout the undecided voters will have on election day, and most importantly who they are going to vote for McCain or Obama? These are the people that are really going to determine the election. Some of these voters are gonna vote for Obama because of McCain pick of Sarah Palin and her inexperience at Vice President. On the other hand, they could also vote for McCain because they think Obama is too inexperience and they do not like Obama tax plan (A.K.A "Joe the plumber route") or they just do not want a black president. I don't know!! They are undecided, they can change their minds on anything. But as scary as it sounds, they will probably be the difference for the candidates to get the 270 electoral votes or not, and it could tip a typical blue state into a red state and vice versa. Then again, they might not have a major turnout, and the national polls could reflect on the outcome of the election.

So students, while you go cast your vote for your candidate and watch the election results unfold on television, just prepare for the unexpected such as voting fraud in swing states, Obama winning Virginia, and McCain winning Pennsylvania, because its likely that the undecided voters played that major role in determining the 44th President of the United States.

Being more aware of how these elections play out really scares me. Most people think McCain and Obama are their only candidates to vote for. Last night while I was researching for the energy debate I found It extremely hard to support McCains or Obamas energy plans because frankly they are both terrible. These 2 candidates are going to invest the america's money in dead end technologies. Clean Coal and Clean Natural Gas and Clean Nuclear Energy are marketing schemes to fool the public. Information on these energy sources are hard to come by, try plugging these terms into google, see the quality of information you get, Its crap information.

So for me I am still undecided but I know for a fact, that I am not voting for Obama or McCain. In my eyes they are puppets of the republican and democratic party which are controlled by companies that fund them. I say this because how could you support clean coal tech... unless they are funding your campaign.

Again like I said in the debate today. Clean Coal, Nuclear, and bio- feuls are not the answer. They are not clean, not renewable, big money investment and then the waste has to be dealt with. You have to make a money investment to build these plants, then you have to buy the fuel for the plant. People are supporting these types of energy because the media covering up their real operations. They do not explain operations at all, they say it and we believe. Not once did I see in the debates, see a candidate explain WHY his energy plan was better than his opponents. He just said that its was better with out information supporting his claim.

We already have a crutch, why do we need these "greener" techs. They will not do it for us in the long run. We need to educate the public properly about energy. People will think twice about their wasteful habits, if they know where their energy is coming from. I will be very brief about were clean coal and nuclear energy come from. They are not magic faculties, they need fuel to produce our energy.

Coal is mined from Appalachian mountains. They literally blow apart mountains. Greenery, widelife, rivers, streams, peoples homes are all left in the wake of the coal industry. There are 2 mining methods, Underground and surface mining. Both are pretty destructive but surface mining pretty much devastates the whole landscape. My words do not do justice in explaining the ruthlessness of coal mining companies you have to see pics here.

Just keep in mind that it requires energy to mine coal and guess what, they are using fossil fuels to run their machinery. Then they have to transport their coal to the coal plant requiring more energy, from dirty fossil fuels.

well this blog post is turning into my agrumentive paper all over again. If you are curious to find out more about clean coal and nuclear leave a comment

but back to my point. You have other options other than McCain and Obama. Nader and Bob Bar I believe are the third party candidates. Nader's energy plan is leaps and bounds better than McCains and Obamas energy plans. But he does support clean coal a little bit, but he does emphasis the importance of solar and wind. I need to reread his website. His website does not illustrate his points well but they are there. I just found out about Bob Bar today, do not know anything about him yet.

I know what you are thinking. If you vote for one of these 3rd party candidates then your vote will not really count. because M and O have the majority. Unfortantly this is true. But if people knew more about this issues at hand maybe people would realize M and O are lying to our faces. Culture has messed with our heads, people feel ashamed or lost if they arnt with their party. M and O are messing with our heads big time we are pretty much brain washed to a certain extent.

Well there are some things to think about. McCain and Obama are not your only choices. Keep in mind that the Democratic and Republican party used to be third parties back in the day. Maybe its time for a new party to take over.

I think that the election was won because Obama had a more strong supporters, not because he swayed the undecided but because many believed in him. Look at Virginia, it turned blue for the first time in soooo long. I think Obama won because people are in desperate need of change and they are willing to give Obama that chance regardless of McCain's attack on his "inexperience".

I've got to say, it felt good seeing Virginia turn blue on national TV. It really made me feel like my vote had mattered, even if I don't live in 'the real America'.

I feel that Obama's victory was more contributed to the large amount of work his campaign did towards getting people registered to vote and interested in the election rather than the undecided voters. Obama succeeded in motivating the cynical and disintresteed by convincing them that they had a chance to change the course of the country by presenting himself as a strong and consistent reformist, while also making McCain look like an out of touch Bush clone.
